Meet Our Staff

Roger T Dieguez D.V.M.
Professional Degrees:
1990 B.S. Microbiology
1995 Doctor of veterinary medicine

Dr. Roger Dieguez is the owner of Rocky Ridge Animal Clinic, which he purchased from his father in 2005. He worked at the clinic throughout high school (John Carroll) and college (Samford and Auburn). Dr. Dieguez worked in Columbus, Georgia, for a year after completing veterinary school. Dr. Dieguez embraces the opportunity to work with people and their pets while providing the very best medical and surgical care possible.

When not at work, he can be found coaching one of his three children in softball, baseball, basketball or football. Dr. Dieguez also enjoys spending time at the beach with his wife and kids.

Renessa Evans D.V.M
Dr. Evans is a native of central Illinois, who moved to Alabama after completing her veterinary training. She received her BS in molecular and cellular biology from the University of Illinois before being accepted into the Professional Veterinary Medicine program at Colorado State University. Dr. Evans graduated from CSU with honors in May of 2010. Her professional interests include internal medicine, with a special interest in feline medicine.

She lives in Helena with her husband, three dogs and four cats. Her personal interests include gardening, cooking and reality television watching. Dr. Evans is excited to be a part of the Rocky Ridge Animal Clinic team, and looks forward to providing quality and compassionate care for your furry friends.

Kelly – Office Manager
Kelly began working here in September of 2009. She applied without veterinary experience, but her friendly personality and ability to get along with everyone has allowed her to become our office manager. She has two cats and two gerbils. She loves spending time with her husband, Michael, and their two boys, Justin and Dawson. When she’s not at work, you can find her on the sidelines of a soccer field.

Marilou – Receptionist
Marilou started working for Rocky Ridge Animal Clinic in February 2011. She said this job let her work with her two favorite things, people and animals. Before coming to Rocky Ridge, Marilou had been an office manager with an entertainment corporation. She enjoys working with the knowledgeable staff and is learning innovative things about the care of animals. She has experienced the worry and needing answers of being a pet owner and is using this to make her more compassionate as a staff member.

Marilou enjoys cooking, reading, gardening and volunteering with a kitten rescue group. She has one dog and four cats, all rescues.


Cortney Griffin – Veterinary Technician Assistant
Cortney has been in veterinary medicine for 13 years. She recently received her Associates in Applied Science Veterinary Technology Degree and will be working towards getting licensed as a Veterinary Technician. Cortney has two dogs and two cats. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and watching college football.
